a long way down by nick hornby is absolutely wicked. not because the language is atwood crafty or the ideas are huxley worthy but because it's just so human. it's as human as human gets. i admit, it's not the most cheerful novel in the world but it taught me something. it taught me that when you feel screwed up and it seems as if living is a waste of time, there are others losers out there who deserve to feel that more than you do. so, read it. you'll be surprised...
