two thursdays ago

I saw you at the door
we walked right through.
to the other side, there was nothing

us, it's such an exclusive word.
two letters, two people.
"dear you", I’d say
but who'd listen

to me, two thursdays seems too many;
too many days and hours in between,
spent ignoring each other,
spent picking up

pieces of paper,
shards of my heart.
