The sun is not feeling kind today. It shines so mercilessly that everything seems a hot white but she doesn't notice it. She doesn't realise how her skin is colouring brown, how the waves curl around her toes and lick her heels, how her feet are sinking into the cool delicious sand. She stands there, staring into the clouds above the waves. It looks as if she is lost in her own world and in a way, she is but there's something more behind that silent gaze. If you look closely enough, you will see a burning determination, a silent fire within. Then slowly but surely, she writes in the sand. When she has written every word, she stands back and watches them dissolve into the waves, wiping her slate clean...

I know I should set my priorities right and spend my time studying now but I have this impulse to just start this whole long list of thank yous. Weird, I know but I just have to put this down:

trishy: thanks dear for your enthusiasm, your smile and your constant "baby-ing", it means a lot that we still keep in touch. Love you and look after marshie ok?
wongs: you have no idea how much I want to go back to those days where we would sit around at some eating place and talk. sigh...take care of yourself and meet up soon!
shan-shan: I miss talking to you and going shopping! Those were seriously the days when we would shop non-stop! I know you're busy and all but dinner someday k?
britney's #1: I still miss talking to you..a lot! I miss complaining to you and our phone marathons! And I miss dragging you around to shop and you picking out clothes for me! P.S: you're one of the 14 :p
teh-o:hello you! Thanks for pushing me to study and studying with me. Seriously, if you didn't push me, I wouldn't have studied at all so, you're a life-saver.
del: hey heys! Since you left, it's been kinda lonely eh? sigh...you take care of yourself ok? I hope we can meet up soon and talk about your hot stuff(s) hahaha...jk but I miss you!
tallie wollies:I can't believe I missed you at the funfair the last time! We have to meet up sometime again ok? Go book-worm shopping! lol
twinnies: i miss you 2 chopsticks! saw cher the last time and talked so wasn't so bad. Must meet both of you again k?
Minsies:I know I haven't actually talked to you much but you take care k?
son: I haven't actually talked to you for quite some time too but thanks for all the lame jokes you tried to crack when I was feeling low. You take care and have fun yeah?
D twins: you guys are so cute! haha...thanks for trying to make me smile and that penchant for asking for hugs! :)
Sal: hey pen pal. long time no letter huh? haha...my fault, sorry. anyhow, you take care of yourself and thanks for keeping in touch after all these donkey years. Love.
Bella: I really owe you one girl! you've been listening to my rubbish for so long! haha...thank you thank you thank you!
Childhood people: I'll never forget the great times we had talking and chatting till late at night. I miss it even now...
Classmates both present and past( 4/2'05, 1T11):thanks guys for making the class fun and a place where I can belong. I miss you guys. Seriously.
Friends and acquaintances(prefects, slc peeps,pre-u sem mates): Thank you for being by my side and making this world a brighter place.
...and then there are those darlings:
#1: Thank you for the wonderful memories. They've been mostly good and happy. Let's keep things happy now.
#2: Thank you for believing in me, listening and being there for me when I really needed it most. Appreciate it loads.
#3: Sorry for the rubbish and misunderstanding but I think we're happier now eh? friends?

She stood there, watching as those waves kissed her hurts and pains in the sand away. They eased out of her memory and were no longer bound by the pain and frustrations in her soul. Watching the clouds morph and laze about that vast wonderful place called heaven, she took it upon herself to do the same too; she would enjoy every moment in life on Earth (aka planet bob), taking in the sea breeze with every breath she inhaled, enjoying the touch of the sun on her skin, sleeping in the sounds of nature's lullabies...everything she could do, she would. She knew she had to...

I'm extremely grateful for all the love, concern and time that has been given to me...I truly appreciate it and if given the chance, I would do anything that I could for you to make you feel happy when you're sad, to listen when you're feeling bad, to lend you a shoulder to cry on, to crack jokes and enjoy those smiles over coke(bad rhyme, so sue me). You mean happiness to me and I love you! :D

As the night faded into day, she heaved a sigh of relief. Her heart felt lighter, the smiles came faster and a song was seemingly always on her lips. This feeling of freedom came from deep within and the peace that came with it was priceless. Suddenly, she couldn't remember why she was ever upset...funny, even that pang in her heart that couldn't go away had crept away with the evening breeze looking for another innocent heart. That sea-breeze carressing her and evening skyline embracing her, those were life's finest moments...choosing the flip-side of the coin and picking to forget was the best thing she ever did...yet.
